Kingston DataTraveler SE9 16GB review

published on 27/02/2017 by Remo Knops

In this article I will have a look at the Kingston DataTraveler SE9 16GB, which I’ve used with both the Freekey key chain and the Keysmart Extended 2.0. I’ve reviewed the Keysmart Extended 2.0 not that long ago.

TDK 2-in-1 Micro USB 2.0 Flash Drive

published on 26/12/2016 by Remo Knops

The TDK 2-in-1 Micro USB 2.0 Flash Drive is a helpful USB drive that helps me backup pictures and videos taken on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 smartphone. Despite the fact that I use OneDrive and Flickr apps on my smartphone I occasionally backup some precious photos. It is basically a USB flash drive with both a USB 2.0 and a micro USB connector.

PDF Annotator 6 review

published on 12/12/2016 by Remo Knops

PDF Annotator will be installed on any of my laptops since I started inking on my Lenovo Windows tablet roughly 9 years ago. Grahl software’s flagship is an amazing tool to annotate PDF-files, for example freehand pen comments, highlight like a text-marker, stamps, typed comments etc.

PDF Annotator has 320.000+ happy users in 89 countries since 2004.  I started using 1.5 when it was released back in 2007, while the latest version is PDF Annotator 6.

PDFtk Pro – Review of an excellent PDF Toolkit

published on 14/01/2014 by Remo Knops

I will review PDFtk Pro, the perfect complement to Foxit PDF Reader, in this article. PDFtk Pro allows users to quickly split, merge, rotate, watermark, stamp and secure PDF files. The PDFtk Pro GUI has a limited number of settings that makes manipulating PDF-files really easy. In my personal opinion it is the Swiss army knife among the PDF Toolkits.

Bypass Start Screen in Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 R2

published on 05/12/2013 by Remo Knops

This article describes how to bypass the start screen in Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 and automatically boot to the desktop by default. The Windows 8 Start Screen is an awesome feature for touch enabled (mobile) devices, that allows you to easily navigate the installed apps on your machine.

If you are using a non-touch enabled device (a classic laptop or ultrabook) it might be useful to directly boot into the desktop environment. The simple 4-step process below will help you to configure this feature for both Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2.
