Design Anker Quad Port Wall Charger

A couple of years ago I’ve reviewed a wall-charger with 4USB-ports and an exchangeable wall socket (US, EU). In the mean time the white case has become yellow and I started using products from Anker.

The Anker Quad Port Wall Charger is one solid piece, with a fixed EU wall socket. When you hold the charger in your hands, it feels “heavy” but also robust and rock solid. It is just an overall feeling about the quality.

The 4 USB ports feature Anker’s Power IQ fast charging technology to perfectly optimize the 36W power output. In the section below you can see the evolution of Power IQ technology.

Anker Power IQ

Anker Power IQ is a technology already existing as of 2014 when Power IQ 1.0 was launched. Power IQ 2.0 was launched in 2017 and Power IQ 3.0 in 2019.

“Our exclusive fast-charging technology. Intelligently identifies your device to deliver the fastest possible charge.”

With each version number, the amount of power output was increased, as well as the connector port types. Power IQ 3.0 can deliver 100W as maximum output, through USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to Apple Lightning cables. The picture below shows an overview of the Power IQ evolution.

Anker Power IQ or Qualcomm Quick Charge ?

Another major player in the mobile device market is Qualcomm. Qualcomm has also developed a fast-charging technology Quick Charge that is compatible with Qualcomm’s own chipset. In other words Qualcomm has developed Quick Charge as part of its own value chain, while the Anker technology is a more generic fast-charging-technology.

Concluding thoughts and wrap-up

I’m a huge fan of Anker products. 🙂

The Anker Quad Port Wall Charger is the latest addition to my collection of cables USB-C and micros USB, power bank(s) and wireless charging unit.

The price point of the Anker Quad Port Wall Charger is € 19,00 on the German Amazon website. For such a quality product that I use on a daily basis this is a very reasonable price.

I also own the Anker 24W 2-Port USB Wall Charger with  Power IQ technology. This 2-port wall charger is more compact and perfect for a modern nomad. The price point of the Anker 24W 2-Port USB Wall Charger is € 13,00 on the German Anker website.

You can’t go wrong with either of these Anker wall chargers, but I’m very curious to learn what charger you are using ?
