The TDK 2-in-1 Micro USB 2.0 Flash Drive is a helpful USB drive that helps me backup pictures and videos taken on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 smartphone. Despite the fact that I use OneDrive and Flickr apps on my smartphone I occasionally backup some precious photos. It is basically a USB flash drive with both a USB 2.0 and a micro USB connector.
Design TDK 2-in-1 Micro USB 2.0 Flash Drive
The design of the TDK 2-in-1 Micro USB 2.0 Flash Drive is pretty simple. It is basically a USB Flash drive, with a 180-degree rotating and translating mechanism to put the micro USB connector over the USB connector.
In order to copy pictures, videos and files from my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 I need to perform the following steps:
- Slide back the USB flash drive using the translating mechanism;
- Rotate the USB flash drive 180 degrees so both USB and micro USB connector are aligned;
- Slide the micro USB connector over the USB connector;
- Insert the TDK 2-in-1 Micro USB 2.0 Flash Drive into the micro USB slot of the USB OTG capable Android smartphone;

Concluding thoughts and wrap-up
The TDK 2-in-1 Micro USB 2.0 Flash Drive with 64GB of storage is available for about € 30,- in the Netherlands. Smartphones are nowadays more than capable of taking good quality pictures of videos.
Having an extra copy of those birthday pictures of your child is priceless. OneDrive and Flickr apps feature automatic uploading of camera pictures and video’s. However I monthly pull a copy directly from my smartphone and save these pictures on a different storage medium (Synology disk station) 🙂
The pricepoint of the TDK 2-in-1 Micro USB 2.0 Flash Drive isn’t a potential blocker, you only need to have a USB OTG capable Android smartphone, like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
