NEW: T-Mobile MDA Vario IV shows its face

In the first week of May HTC announced the HTC Touch Diamond, which I was able to get my hands-on at the local HTC product launch event in Utrecht (Netherlands). Although I was heavily impressed by the size of the HTC Touch Diamond and the speed of the TouchFLO 3D interface, as a power-user the device simply lacked a hardware QWERTY keyboard. Several rumors and specs about a HTC Diamond WITH a full QWERTY keyboard were hitting the web ... until yesterday. A fellow Dutch colleague, who I met at … [Read more...]

htc_logo_150px

HTC has officially released a Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade for the HTC TyTN II, as listed in the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 press release on 1st April 2008. [ref05] But the upgrade doesn't consist only of the Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade, but should also address some video- and other performance problems. [ref08] It's clever of HTC to combine these facts and bundle them in one upgrade, so end-users or large companies don't have to roll out twice an upgrade. resco_explorer_150px

The first program to install on an pocketpc phone edition or smartphone edition is a good file explorer. For years I've been using Resco File Explorer on both operating systems. Like the development of the 2007 version, Resco has put a public beta on their forums for the 2008-version. [ref03]With this … [Read more...]

Xobni: More than just organizing your e-mail

xobni_mascot

Xobni is the word inbox backwards spelled, and as you can guess it's a powerful plugin for Microsoft Outlook. While it has been in a private beta for quite some time, now (= a few weeks) is this plugin available in a public beta. After installing the plugin an additional pane is added to your Microsoft Outlook. If you click on an e-mail a profile overview of the sender is shown. The overview provides the e-mail history as well as the incomming and outgoing number of e-mails and the calculated … [Read more...]
